Last week, I received a call in the office from Prudential Life agent informing me that I won a 2 yr scholarship from Datamex school because it's Prudential Life's 29th Anniversary. The girl told me someone who's working or related on Prudential Life referred me and we are only 15 persons who won that scholarship. I don't remember anyone from Prudential Life so I asked who is that their talking about and said they cannot traced it because it came from their main office. Hmmmm!...Suspicious. Then they said that I just need to claim it on their office also here in Makati and present 3 valid IDs (company ID, sss ID, any CREDIT CARD ID). And I've just said "ok, I'll try if I can claim that". I just have said that but I really don't believed on her or something like this and I remembered it's christmas season, there are too many modus operandi scattered around, I had a hunch it's a scam.

Then the next day and days passed, she keeps on calling and texting me, I even said that I really have no time to claim it and it's okay if they disregard my scholarship but she is insisting that they're going to wait me etc. etc. Then yesterday, I had a call from their own supervisor that they really want me to claim it, All I have to do is to present the id and I have nothing to pay, the scholarship is all for free, they even said that they will not waste their time to call me if they are just fooling me, I don't know what comes to my mind maybe the supervisor is more convincing so I have said okay, i'll try to drop by at ur office at lunch break. But before going there, I googled the school datamex and the map of their office address. The school does exists so it lessen my doubt but one result of my search caught my eyes and it said "Pudential Life - Datamex Scam". Oh! Thank God I have seen and read this. Yes it's a scam, they will try to sell you insurance by Prudential Life or according to others, they will insist you to present a credit card for verification and will swipe it then all of a sudden you had purchased something you really don't need or want to. To end the story, I texted them that I cannot come because there is an emergency work in the office, I didn't tell them directly that I found out their modus operandi. then they called me immediately and asked me what happened that all of a sudden I changed my mind. I just said i'm just not interested anymore and please stop calling me!

There are more stories over the net if you search this scam. I want to warn you guys of this shameless people who are wasting our time and just fooling us around.

More countries in Asia and Europe banned imports of Chinese milk products because of this alarming melamine content on milk and even other products made in China. Fyi, Melamine is a white powder used in plastic-making. Its most common form, melamine resin, a mix of melamine and formaldehyde, is used in manufacture of formica, floor tiles, whiteboards and kitchenware. And why add this melamine to milk powder? Because melamine is rich in nitrogen, and relatively cheap. Adding it to sub-standard or watered-down milk makes the milk's protein level appear higher. Standard quality tests estimate protein levels by measuring nitrogen content.

So far four infants have died in China, and about 13,000 more have been hospitalised after drinking the contaminated milk. Four Hong Kong children have also become sick after consuming toxic Chinese milk powder and more than 80 percent of the sick are under two years old. Young babies that depend solely on milk are most vulnerable.
Little scientific information exists about the compound's effects on humans. The melamine could crystallise in small kidney tubes and block connecting ducts, resulting in kidney damage or even renal failure.

And here in the Philippines, people are now more alert when buying milk and other products to assure it's not made from china to stay them and their relatives safe and secured from this melamine content.

But one very helpful way I received from email on how we can determine where the products was made from. Let me share you how... the first 3 digits of the barcode is the country code wherein the product was made.

Sample all barcodes that start with 690.691.692 until 695 are all MADE IN CHINA. 471 is Made in Taiwan.

This is our human right to know, but just wondering why the government and related department never educate the public.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products 'made in china', so they don't show from which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode, remember if the first 3 digits is 690-695 then it is Made in China .

00 ~ 13 USA & CANADA
30 ~ 37 FRANCE
40 ~ 44 GERMANY
49 ~ JAPAN
50 ~ UK
57 ~ Denmark
64 ~ Finland
76 ~ Switzerland and Lienchtenstein
628 ~ Saudi-Arabien
629 ~ United Arab Emirates
740 ~ 745 - Central America

All 480 codes are made in the Philippines. I just bought Absolute distilled water when I had my lunch and try to check the barcode if the info is real ....Right it's 480. :)

Please inform your family and friends for them to be aware. ;)

Of course yes! but thinking of having a bay toaster to your personal pc to keep away you standing in the middle of loaded work or busy chatting or playing your online games in front of your pc just to make heat your burger or pizza. Hmmm.. Possible??? Yeah you've seen the picture correctly.

It's the new CrazyPC 5.25 Inch Bay Toaster. You'll just insert your favorite burger or slice of bread directly into the drive bay and it fits a standard 5.25. It's easy to install and includes Windows based software interface which controls the temperature and how long the toast is in for. This is a Windows version but they are currently working on a Mac OS version too that will hopefully be coming soon. To get this to work it requires an available USB port as well as a 4 pin Molex power connector. You will also need a free PCI slot. It does have a crumb tray like every other toaster and includes a 2 year warranty. KEwl! It hopefully won’t cause your PC any overheating issues since it has a vent that exhausts the hot air out the back of the case. To pick one up it will cost you $29.99 from Crazy PC.

Ginebra Gin Kings team proved once again their "never say die spirit" as they beat Air21 Express with a score of 97-84 in a classic Game 7 last night. It's been a tough finals for them as most of their players suffered a lot of injuries (mainly from their stars) like Jay Jay Healtherbrand, the Best Player of the Conference who wasn't been able to play since game 3 due to a hamstring injury he sustained in Game 2 and the semi-injured Mark Caguioa (their MVP) who tried his best to play and make his score. The team also went through a lot of import changes, but as the season progresses they finally found the right mix with the “Big Man” Chris Alexander who can score and defend (blocks) as well while the other players showed that with the absence of their star players, they refused to give up and gave their best game to win the championship.

On the other hand, Air21 has already cemented its place among the elite in the Philippine Basketball Association. Air21 has shown, at least in this series, that it can win in an offense-oriented game and can triumph with both teams choking each other to death.

But still Kings remain Kings, and a huge hurray for the Brgy. Ginebra team!

Actually, I'm not really fond of watching PBA, it's just that our tv always tuned either PBA or NBA because my husband really love basketball. We even planned to watch the finals live in Araneta but wasn't able to because im pregnant and a crowded audience was sure to be there so just keeping safe maybe next time when we have our junior . :D

i'm at my 13 weeks (3 mos & 1 week) preggy with my first baby and can't wait to find out whether i'm having a baby boy or girl. I need to wait 2 more months so I can have ultrasound with my OB. but to have a bit idea I researched some alternative but definitely not accurate ways to determine if it's going to be a boy or girl.

Here are some cool ways:

*  Chinese Lunar Calendar

______________________________________
EXPLANATION

You can choose for yourself whether you want a boy or a girl by following the chart. The woman's age from 18 to 45 (Chinese reckoning) is on the top line while the months 1 to 12 indicate the month when the baby is conceived. By following the chart you will be able to tell in advance whether your baby will be a boy or a girl. Thus, you can plan to have a boy or a girl. This chart has been taken from a Royal tomb near Peking, China. The original copy is kept in the Institute of Science of Peking. The accuracy of the chart has been proved by thousands of People and is believed to be 99 percent accurate. By reckoning, you follow a line drawn from the figure representing the woman's age to a line drawn from the month the baby is conceived. For instance, if the woman is 27 years old and her baby is conceived in January (according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar), then her baby will be a girl. The chart is based on the month the baby is conceived and not on the birth of the baby, B-Male, G-Female. Remarks: A Chinese Scientist discovered and drew this chart which was buried in a Royal tomb about 700 years ago.

Result: a baby boy :) ...my baby conceived last May that was when I get married and I'm 23 yrs old.

* the wedding ring pendulum

One of the more common myths is the wedding ring on the chain or piece of string. Side to side equals girl, and round and round equals boy.

Result: I really can't tell, sometimes it goes side to side, sometimes round and round..sigh!

* drain cleaner

For this test, we'll be requiring a urine sample and a teaspoon of drain cleaner.

When the two are combined, the myth says green equals girl, blue equals boy.

* the heart rate

Now, to do something a little more scientific — they say if your heart rate is over 140 you're going to have a boy, if it's under 140 you're going to have a girl.

Haven't tried the last two. Actually, my husband and I wanted to have first a baby boy but whatever God will gave us I will definitely be happy and blessed. I'll just be patient to wait few more months ;)
