Prudential Life - Datamex Scam
November 27, 2008Last week, I received a call in the office from Prudential Life agent informing me that I won a 2 yr scholarship from Datamex school because it’s Prudential Life’s 29th Anniversary. The girl told me someone who’s working or related on Prudential Life referred me and we are only 15 persons who won that scholarship. I don’t remember anyone from Prudential Life so I asked who is that their talking about and said they cannot traced it because it came from their main office. Hmmmm!…Suspicious. Then they said that I just need to claim it on their office also here in Makati and present 3 valid IDs (company ID, sss ID, any CREDIT CARD ID). And I’ve just said “ok, I’ll try if I can claim that”. I just have said that but I really don’t believed on her or something like this and I remembered it’s christmas season, there are too many modus operandi scattered around, I had a hunch it’s a scam.
Then the next day and days passed, she keeps on calling and texting me, I even said that I really have no time to claim it and it’s okay if they disregard my scholarship but she is insisting that they’re going to wait me etc. etc. Then yesterday, I had a call from their own supervisor that they really want me to claim it, All I have to do is to present the id and I have nothing to pay, the scholarship is all for free, they even said that they will not waste their time to call me if they are just fooling me, I don’t know what comes to my mind maybe the supervisor is more convincing so I have said okay, i’ll try to drop by at ur office at lunch break. But before going there, I googled the school datamex and the map of their office address. The school does exists so it lessen my doubt but one result of my search caught my eyes and it said “Pudential Life - Datamex Scam”. Oh! Thank God I have seen and read this. Yes it’s a scam, they will try to sell you insurance by Prudential Life or according to others, they will insist you to present a credit card for verification and will swipe it then all of a sudden you had purchased something you really don’t need or want to. To end the story, I texted them that I cannot come because there is an emergency work in the office, I didn’t tell them directly that I found out their modus operandi. then they called me immediately and asked me what happened that all of a sudden I changed my mind. I just said i’m just not interested anymore and please stop calling me!
There are more stories over the net if you search this scam. I want to warn you guys of this shameless people who are wasting our time and just fooling us around.
How to differentiate products that are Made in CHINA?
October 17, 2008More countries in Asia and Europe banned imports of Chinese milk products because of this alarming melamine content on milk and even other products made in China. Fyi, Melamine is a white powder used in plastic-making. Its most common form, melamine resin, a mix of melamine and formaldehyde, is used in manufacture of formica, floor tiles, whiteboards and kitchenware. And why add this melamine to milk powder? Because melamine is rich in nitrogen, and relatively cheap. Adding it to sub-standard or watered-down milk makes the milk’s protein level appear higher. Standard quality tests estimate protein levels by measuring nitrogen content.
So far four infants have died in China, and about 13,000 more have been hospitalised after drinking the contaminated milk. Four Hong Kong children have also become sick after consuming toxic Chinese milk powder and more than 80 percent of the sick are under two years old. Young babies that depend solely on milk are most vulnerable.
Little scientific information exists about the compound’s effects on humans. The melamine could crystallise in small kidney tubes and block connecting ducts, resulting in kidney damage or even renal failure.
And here in the Philippines, people are now more alert when buying milk and other products to assure it’s not made from china to stay them and their relatives safe and secured from this melamine content.
But one very helpful way I received from email on how we can determine where the products was made from. Let me share you how… the first 3 digits of the barcode is the country code wherein the product was made.
Sample all barcodes that start with 690.691.692 until 695 are all MADE IN CHINA. 471 is Made in Taiwan.
This is our human right to know, but just wondering why the government and related department never educate the public.
Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products ‘made in china’, so they don’t show from which country it is made.
However, you may now refer to the barcode, remember if the first 3 digits is 690-695 then it is Made in China .
00 ~ 13 USA & CANADA
30 ~ 37 FRANCE
40 ~ 44 GERMANY
49 ~ JAPAN
50 ~ UK
57 ~ Denmark
64 ~ Finland
76 ~ Switzerland and Lienchtenstein
628 ~ Saudi-Arabien
629 ~ United Arab Emirates
740 ~ 745 - Central America
All 480 codes are made in the Philippines. I just bought Absolute distilled water when I had my lunch and try to check the barcode if the info is real ….Right it’s 480.
Please inform your family and friends for them to be aware.
Cool PC!
August 28, 2008
Don’t you dream to have your computer an ultimate PC quality, reliability and a high-end performance? Of course yes! but thinking of having a bay toaster to your personal pc to keep away you standing in the middle of loaded work or busy chatting or playing your online games in front of your pc just to make heat your burger or pizza. Hmmm.. Possible??? Yeah you’ve seen the picture correctly.
It’s the new CrazyPC 5.25 Inch Bay Toaster. You’ll just insert your favorite burger or slice of bread directly into the drive bay and it fits a standard 5.25. It’s easy to install and includes Windows based software interface which controls the temperature and how long the toast is in for. This is a Windows version but they are currently working on a Mac OS version too that will hopefully be coming soon. To get this to work it requires an available USB port as well as a 4 pin Molex power connector. You will also need a free PCI slot. It does have a crumb tray like every other toaster and includes a 2 year warranty. KEwl! It hopefully won’t cause your PC any overheating issues since it has a vent that exhausts the hot air out the back of the case. To pick one up it will cost you $29.99 from Crazy PC.
Useful Information of your CELLPHONES
August 26, 2008There are few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it.
1) EMERGENCY
The Emergency Number worldwide for mobile is 112.
If you find yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. **Try it out**
2) Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keys?
This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone. If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone.
Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock.
Save someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
3) Hidden battery power
Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important call and you don’t have a charger. Nokia instrument comes with a reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell will restart and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserved battery will get charged when you charge your cell next time.
4) How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone’s serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won’t get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can’t use/sell it either.
5) Be careful while using your mobile phone
When you try to call someone through mobile phone, don’t put your mobile closer to your ears until the recipient answers. Because directly after dialing, the mobile phone would use it’s maximum signaling power, which is: 2 watts = 33dbi, Save your brain. Please use left ear while using cell (mobile), because if you use the right one it will affect brain directly. This is a true fact from Apollo medical team.

Ginebra wins!!!
August 21, 2008Ginebra Gin Kings team proved once again their “never say die spirit” as they beat Air21 Express with a score of 97-84 in a classic Game 7 last night. It’s been a tough finals for them as most of their players suffered a lot of injuries (mainly from their stars) like Jay Jay Healtherbrand, the Best Player of the Conference who wasn’t been able to play since game 3 due to a hamstring injury he sustained in Game 2 and the semi-injured Mark Caguioa (their MVP) who tried his best to play and make his score. The team also went through a lot of import changes, but as the season progresses they finally found the right mix with the “Big Man” Chris Alexander who can score and defend (blocks) as well while the other players showed that with the absence of their star players, they refused to give up and gave their best game to win the championship.
On the other hand, Air21 has already cemented its place among the elite in the Philippine Basketball Association. Air21 has shown, at least in this series, that it can win in an offense-oriented game and can triumph with both teams choking each other to death.
But still Kings remain Kings, and a huge hurray for the Brgy. Ginebra team!
Actually, I’m not really fond of watching PBA, it’s just that our tv always tuned either PBA or NBA because my husband really love basketball. We even planned to watch the finals live in Araneta but wasn’t able to because im pregnant and a crowded audience was sure to be there so just keeping safe maybe next time when we have our junior .

Some Ideas For Making the Olympics More Interesting..
August 15, 2008Perhaps, it will be more exciting if the olympics in Beijing will be something like this:
i bet no one’s gonna be interested to join. LOL
cheers !!!
August 14, 2008WATER…… It has been scientifically proven that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli bacteria found in feces, in other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop!
However, we do not run that risk when drinking wine (or rum, whiskey, vodka, beer or other liquors) because alcohol has to go through a distillation process of boiling, filtering and fermenting.
WATER = Poop
WINE = HEALTH
Free yourself of Poop, drink WINE!!! It is better to drink wine and talk shit than to drink water and be full of shit.
There is no need to thank me for this valuable information, I am doing it as a public service. Have a nice day…
boy or girl?
August 13, 2008i’m at my 13 weeks (3 mos & 1 week) preggy with my first baby and can’t wait to find out whether i’m having a baby boy or girl. I need to wait 2 more months so I can have ultrasound with my OB. but to have a bit idea I researched some alternative but definitely not accurate ways to determine if it’s going to be a boy or girl.
Here are some cool ways:
* Chinese Lunar Calendar
______________________________________
EXPLANATION
You can choose for yourself whether you want a boy or a girl by following the chart. The woman’s age from 18 to 45 (Chinese reckoning) is on the top line while the months 1 to 12 indicate the month when the baby is conceived. By following the chart you will be able to tell in advance whether your baby will be a boy or a girl. Thus, you can plan to have a boy or a girl. This chart has been taken from a Royal tomb near Peking, China. The original copy is kept in the Institute of Science of Peking. The accuracy of the chart has been proved by thousands of People and is believed to be 99 percent accurate. By reckoning, you follow a line drawn from the figure representing the woman’s age to a line drawn from the month the baby is conceived. For instance, if the woman is 27 years old and her baby is conceived in January (according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar), then her baby will be a girl. The chart is based on the month the baby is conceived and not on the birth of the baby, B-Male, G-Female. Remarks: A Chinese Scientist discovered and drew this chart which was buried in a Royal tomb about 700 years ago.
Result: a baby boy
…my baby conceived last May that was when I get married and I’m 23 yrs old.
* the wedding ring pendulum
One of the more common myths is the wedding ring on the chain or piece of string. Side to side equals girl, and round and round equals boy.
Result: I really can’t tell, sometimes it goes side to side, sometimes round and round..sigh!
* drain cleaner
For this test, we’ll be requiring a urine sample and a teaspoon of drain cleaner.
When the two are combined, the myth says green equals girl, blue equals boy.
* the heart rate
Now, to do something a little more scientific — they say if your heart rate is over 140 you’re going to have a boy, if it’s under 140 you’re going to have a girl.
Haven’t tried the last two. Actually, my husband and I wanted to have first a baby boy but whatever God will gave us I will definitely be happy and blessed. I’ll just be patient to wait few more months
for manga and comic fanatics
July 29, 2008
We are currently developing a new manga mini-series and virtual world called Mechtechs.
The series is set in a mecha garage run by a dysfunctional cast of characters that is passionate about fabricating giant pilot driven robots, or mechas. While the comedic dysfunction of the relationships and the daily drama in the garage is the primary focus of the series, the garage is but a microcosm of a much larger mecha universe. The mechas being built in the garage are being used to fight in the inter-galactic mecha-fought tournament that is taking place right outside.
Want to know the cool part? During the development phase, manga fans can visit the MechTechs blogs and see the characters as they are being drawn via our live 24-hour webcast.
And even better, fans can contribute and make suggestions to the artists as they draw the characters.
The first print issue of the series will be released in November 2008 along with the launch of the 3-D virtual mecha world.

For those who commute in Metro Manila
June 21, 2008just want to share this to all commuters for your safety and awareness
A True story from someone
mo? Kawawa ka naman. Maglalakad ka.
Based on my own experience sa isang aircon bus….
ticket going to Baguio sa Victory Liner Cubao. Sumakay ako ng aircon
bus from Victory Liner in Cubao to Robinson’s Galleria, going back sa
office in Ortigas.
So, pagdating sa may
So pagdating ng VV Soliven, lumipat ako ng upuan (3rows before the
driver , at the right side of the bus). Pagdating ng SEC (near ortigas
ave.) Kinukuha ko na ung sukli ko. Hindi kumibo ang kundoktor.
Luminga-linga lang, parang deadma ba?.
Nang patawid na ng ortigas ave. (stoplight), tumayo ako at nilapitan ko
Last October 30, 2007, Tuesday around 6:15 pm pauwi na ako galing
ortigas going to Makati (Guadalupe tulay).
Miss, singkwenta
babae.
Bago ako bumaba sa may Guadalupe tulay (Loyola) tiningnan ko ung
driver, ung kundoktor at ung lalaki na kumatig dun sa kundoktor.
Magkaka-kilala pala sila at nagtatawanan pa.
Kasi
2 years ago, naka-experience ako nang ganyan sa may Balintawak.
Sinaksak yung isang pasahero. Kawawa naman. Ganyan ang modus operadi
nila sa bus. Kaya nga kapag sumakay ako ng bus, palagi akong may
dalang baryang pangbayad.”

The value of holidays
August 21, 2007Yesterday was a special non-working holiday to commemorate Ninoy Aquino's Day. It is originally August 21(Tuesday) but moved and observed August 20(Monday) so as to have long weekends. This became more formal and effective as the President Arroyo recently signed into law Republic Act 9492 to make formerly fixed national holidays, traditional non-working days to the nearest Monday. If the holiday falls on Wednesday, the holiday would be observed on the Monday of that week. If it falls on Sunday, the holiday would be observed on the Monday that follows.
The ff: are the non-working holidays from our official calendar but now moved from their original dates: (not including holy week)
Araw ng Kagitingan - Monday nearest April 9
Labor Day - Monday nearest May 1
Independence Day - Monday nearest June 12
Ninoy Aquino Day - Monday nearest August 21
National Heroes Day - Last Moday of August
Bonifacio Day - Monday nearest November 30
Rizal Day - Monday nearest December 30
Although we know that it can make us more convenient in some way; hopefully, the true meaning and value will perpetuate and not detached from the actual historical dates
